There are some theories that Sigiriya, considered to be the eighth wonder of the world, was created by King Rawana. It is also said that it was done by Kasyapa to protect himself from the Mughaln king.
The first thing that comes to mind when talking about Sigiriya is the Sigiriya frescoes. Although some say that the women in these paintings are the innermost ladies of King Kasyapa, Prof. Senarath Paranavitharana says that these nymphs represent clouds and lightning.
You can also see the Sigiriya Mirror Wall, the water pools on the hill and the lion's mouth. One can understand the technology of our country in the past by looking at the design of this Sigiriya. Some springs are still in operation today.
