Located at Gampola town in Kandy district, Ambuluwa Kanda is about 358 feet high.  This beautiful place can be reached after traveling about 03 km from Gampola on the Hemmatagama road.

There are many legends that led to the name Ambuluwawa.  The most popular story is that of Prince Ambulugala who ruled this area.

The entrance to the Ambuluwagala mountain climb is a gateway inspired by Kandy architecture that expresses local identity.

Along this road you can see the beauty of the beautiful landscape with endemic plants, export crops etc.

Also, grasses, large trees, etc. that have been cultivated according to different designs claim the wonder of biodiversity.

At 243 feet high, the spiral staircase to the top is truly adventurous.  From the top you can see the city of Gampola as well as nearly 50 mountains.
